About RAS Exam 

Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS) exam is a state-level civil services exam conducted by Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC). The exam is also known as Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services Combined Competitive Exam. RAS is the highest state service and also the most sought after job in the state. RPSC RAS exam is the gateway to enter into the RAS. The exam is conducted to fill Group-A and B vacancies in the state of Rajasthan. The Group-A and B vacancies are usually released for recruitment in the following administrative state and subordinate services:

RPSC RAS Eligibility 

The basic eligibility criteria for RPSC RAS exam includes

  • Candidates should obtain a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.

  • Candidates should be minimum of 21 years and maximum of 40 years as of January 1, 2022. For non-gazetted employees, the minimum age limit is 25 years and the maximum age limit is 45 years as on January 1, 2022.

RPSC RAS 2021 Selection Process 

The RPSC RAS selection process includes the following three stages:

  • Preliminary exam: This is an objective-type screening test of 200 marks. Candidates need to complete the paper in three hours duration. This test can be conducted in either offline or online mode as the prevailing conditions permit
  • Main exam: This is a descriptive-/ analytical-type written test. The test contains four papers of 200 marks each. The time allowed to complete each paper is three hours.

  • Personality Test/Interview: Candidates who qualify in the RAS Main exam, need to appear for a personality test/ interview. The weightage for the personality test is 100 marks.
